I never really thought about this before but it finally hit me. Objectivists and driving. NEVER ride in a car with an objectivist when he's doing the driving. Think about it - would YOU trust someone behind the wheel who doesn't trust their own senses???? And if they don't pay attention in audio, who's to say they pay attention on the road? No wonder there's so few of them around....
"No wonder there's so few of them around...."As a group not particularily bright either, many can be found located in auto junkyards banging out tunes from the trunks of abandoned vehicles; although it must be admitted that not common sense but rather homophobia has saved more than a few from this plight!
It sounded like the whole point of a trip was for an objectivist to go to an audio demo... like there might be actual listening going on. Odd. Diabetics don't enter pie eating contests so why would an objectivist attend an audio demo???? Why wouldn't they just have the specs emailed to them? Why would they even be interested in anything Tom Danley had to say? Didn't Tom report on this very board that he chose his power amp based on listening tests, and that it felt it sounded different than another DUT? GASP!!!
It's audio mate... mysteries abound! But I think they mostly go betting on the chance that Stereophile may be handing out a free test CD. They can't risk ordering for fear they'll be outed for supporting a rag that publishes subjective reviews.
With a name like Bjh, you're quite comfortable with having lots of guys riding in your trunk.
No thanks.cheers,
