POLLYinFLA if some Objectivist doctor ever called me a vagina, because he said I looked terrible, when I told him I felt great Subjectively. I'd think the psychiatrist would be needed by him and you for agreeing with him. However your moronic comments only serve to prove my point about most Objectivists, i.e, even when it quite obvious to everyone else that their objective and supposedly scientific analysis is wrong, they cling to it strictly because they believe it's objective and scientific, so that means it HAS to be correct. Just like the ONLY correct analysis of looking terrible and feeling great = being a vagina.
All Hail King POLLYinFLA! The king of bumbling, boisterous, bird-brained, banter. I have a great epitaph for your tombstone. "Here lies POLLYinFLA. He had a great idea once, but it died of loneliness."
Follow Ups:
I'll let you drive and pay for gas while I provide the laughs with unending audiophile jokes? You would get to hear what a real speaker system sound like, instead of those horrid little flexing plastic cone directivity chaos low efficiency speakers you drive with your low powered euphonic distortion "live music" generator.
Or perhaps after Tom D does his demo, the crowd could get to listen for the first time in their lives what live music sounds like, by putting your Mastersound Ref845 on the stage and having everyone look at it?
Maybe give a speech about your measure really bad = sound really good theories? That could be fun.
After the (stuffy AES) meeting we could head for a less narrow minded place in town, where you could meet other subjectivists who hear all types of sound that cannot be measured...or should I say cannot *yet* be measured. Maybe you could share some stereo/devil/ghost, etc. stories about your superior hearing and vision that lets you perceive what envious others cannot.
Sound like a plan? I'm ready to buy some beer for the road (remember, you're driving, in a car which some ignorant, close minded engineer designed the brakes)cheers,
AJ

Sorry POLLYinFLA but this wouldn't work for a few reasons...First and foremost I do not wish to have the displeasure of actually meeting you in person. In fact if I am lucky meeting you is something that will never happen as long as I live.
Second what you, in that warped mind of yours, believe is an ability to provide laughs with unending audiophile jokes, I see as bumbling, boisterous, babeling, bird-brained, banter from POLLYinFLA. Remember I know you believe you're this hot shit in a champagne glass, but I know you're only lukewarm diarrhea in a dixie cup.
Third I cannot share stereo/devil/ghost, etc. stories because it's YOU, not I who believe these things and regale us endlessly with your moronic rants about these topics such as these.
Fourth it's YOU, not I, who believes and states some ignorant, close minded engineer designed the brakes of the car I drive.
POLLYinFLA you're just like a monkey who's been left long enough banging on a keyboard and eventually types something legible. Only in your case with all your bumbling, boisterous, babeling, bird-brained, banter you've finally said something intelligent. For were I ever to put my Mastersound Reference 845 on a stage before you and your fellow nay-saying Objectivists, you're correct in saying the crowd would get to listen for the first time in their lives what live music sounds like!

No Guru, No Method, No Teacher
I never really thought about this before but it finally hit me. Objectivists and driving. NEVER ride in a car with an objectivist when he's doing the driving. Think about it - would YOU trust someone behind the wheel who doesn't trust their own senses???? And if they don't pay attention in audio, who's to say they pay attention on the road? No wonder there's so few of them around....
"No wonder there's so few of them around...."As a group not particularily bright either, many can be found located in auto junkyards banging out tunes from the trunks of abandoned vehicles; although it must be admitted that not common sense but rather homophobia has saved more than a few from this plight!
It sounded like the whole point of a trip was for an objectivist to go to an audio demo... like there might be actual listening going on. Odd. Diabetics don't enter pie eating contests so why would an objectivist attend an audio demo???? Why wouldn't they just have the specs emailed to them? Why would they even be interested in anything Tom Danley had to say? Didn't Tom report on this very board that he chose his power amp based on listening tests, and that it felt it sounded different than another DUT? GASP!!!
It's audio mate... mysteries abound! But I think they mostly go betting on the chance that Stereophile may be handing out a free test CD. They can't risk ordering for fear they'll be outed for supporting a rag that publishes subjective reviews.
With a name like Bjh, you're quite comfortable with having lots of guys riding in your trunk.
No thanks.cheers,
AJ
