HowdyPeople are complaining that too many classic recordings are being released compared to pop, jazz, etc.
I realize that the SACD release rate is small compared to CDs etc. but I must have over 500 MC classic recordings. (I'm listening to the Reiner Scheherazade as I type.)
No digital games...
Follow Ups:
Hi.All digital multi-channel audios, Dolby or DTS, still use 16/44.1 CD sound format.
Even the latest Dolby TrueHD 8.1 employing lossless coding technology come in with Blu-ray & HDDVD high resolution video disc players is only 24bit 96KHz DAC.
With DVD-audio stereo, I can get 24/192 which is sonically better than the latest multi-channel technology considering I am NOT a movie goer. Besides I don't think I want to get all those speakers sitting around me let alone the costs of acquiring the hardwares to
reproduce it.c-J
PS: I like Scheherazade, soothing like a symphonic peom. Is yours on vinyl or CD? I get a couple of old old LP stereo recordings.
HowdyYou said "All digital multi-channel audios, Dolby or DTS, still use 16/44.1 CD sound format." Not true, on DVD-V and DVD-A the basic tech for MC is 48K or 96K with varying bits/sample, some up to 24 bits even for DTS. Also I presume you meant in the DVD world since obviously SACD is digital MC and it's clearly not 16/44.1 based either.
As I was trying to imply I was listening to Scheherazade on SACD in multichannel :)
Hi.Up to now I am still yet to be convinced sonically.
HowdyYup, there is just so much more info there. You don't think about soundstage depth, you are there. You don't think about soundstage width, you are there. There is more ambiance, the audience is behind you :) I could go on...
