I will be taking on the task of building 2 Klipsch LaScala's. This is my first HORN project. I've built boxes and speakers before, just not horns. If these horns don't turn out being that well built, I don't want to be out big bucks on the drivers. I was wondering if there are any replacement drivers and horns that work OK. Also, if I change the drivers will I need to change the throat size? Right now I plan on using the 3X13 throat size.I will not be using these in my high end system.(If they come out great I'll probably build another pair out of some quality wood for it though) I will be using these to power some parties etc. ANY help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Follow Ups:
Just get the proper woofer from Klipsch. It won't be pricey....also, maybe get yourself a few nice subs for your parties, the low bass really strains the LaScala's and restricts total output...
what mid horn are you using? I have a line on the proper driver for the mid...and the t35 tweeters are easy. If you need original x overs...can help you on that in 2 months (in storage...700 miles away).I know Paul K. so I know the speaker in and out.
I will give you info as time allows.
I won't be starting the LaScala for a month or so so that would be great!! I will keep looking, but I will keep in touch with you. Thanks a lot!
