Can only talk from my own personal experience, but at the price the new Kef Q series speakers are hard to beat. Good sound from a budget speaker. I bought a Harman Kardon Surround amp and a matched set of the Kef's. The Harman Kardon has a fair amount of "grunt" given its price point and doesn't destroy all the detail, better warmer sound than the Onkyo in my opinion. The kef's (I'm talking about the lates ones, seem to exhibit more detail in the treble than earlier guises. Critisisms? The mid is a little forward, but at this money what do you expect. Good bang for your buck, sounds decent on classical music. If this system doesn't suit your need, I would look at secondhand equipement, you will get more for your money that way.Regards

Thank you Roland for your reply. I, too, think that i would buy better stuff with this amount of money if i chose second hand material, but i live in PORTUGAL. There's no way i can buy it. If i only lived in the States or U.K. !!!
Hi Jose,I live in your neighbour country Spain. I think you should have a look at royalaudio.com. Itīs a second hand HI FI shop in Barcelona where you can buy good second hand gear (they will even give you a 3 month guarantee on al you purchase). Prices are in Euros and i donīt think you will have to pay custom tax living in the EEC. If you donīt like what you buy, you can part exchange your purchase (you loose 15 %) on a new buy.
Hope that helps.
Alex, Spain.
While the shipping is expensive from the US it is probably not so bad from Northern Europe or Britain. And you can find some good deals. I love looking at the pictures on ebay. Audiogon is a website short on pictures but has nearly all good equipment, a lot of it demos, closeouts, etc. Be careful though. I would look for someone with no more than 1% bad feedback i.e. 1 in 100 transactions. I think it's usually better to buy from an audio dealer with a reputation to protect or an individual owner with all positive feedback, as opposed to an auctioneer/ estate liquidator. Folks in the latter category may have never shipped a turntable before and despite their good intentions it arrives broken. And try to avoid components that weigh a lot (:Good luck,
Peter
