I know someone who has 3 luxman M-113 amplifiers and a luxman TP-117 Tuner pre-amplifier. Does anyone know anything about these units. Are they quality products or just regular store shelf stuff? What do they compare to? What class category would they be in? I know absolutly nothing about this company and would like to help him out. He is trying to build a quality home theater system and doesn't know if the luxman amps are worth using or if he should go with a good 6 or 6 channel amplifier. Thanks in advance,
Pete!!!

I'm not familiar with those particular models, but Luxman stuff is good quality...some of their higher end pieces were great. He may some issues getting them repaired if they break, but they should sound great. He'd have to spend quite a bit to buy better amplification at today's prices.
luxman was (is?)a premium Japanese brand. Assuming proper operation, the amplifiers could certainly be used, while the preamp likely would not satisfy the requirement.
I've never heard any luxman amps but they were from the sound of it a reputable company. Wouldn't be good to use w/ a home theater. If you are getting into home theater now theres no reason not to get a 5.1 or 6.1 reciever or something along those lines. Sorry I don't know more about luxman
