I'm trying to decide on a strong amp for subs
I have narrowed it down to:Crown ce-1000
QSC RMX850
Crest CPX900The crown is $100 more than the others but also offers more power.
The crest has a built in crossover which is nice and would save me about $120 on an external one. Which would you choose and why?
Follow Ups:
If you do go for the QSC's, forget the RMX series & go for the PLX series.
As I understand it with the others, Crown = Maximum reliability & Crest = Maximum sound Quality.
I own 6 ce1000's and 6 cd2000's and am very impressed with them,
never had any problems at all. and they all sound great.
i had got a used qsc rmx850 (at a very good deal)but sold it
cause it sounded alot worse than the crowns. i havent messed with
any crest amps, but i am told they are great amps.
The Crowns are loud & durable but the QSCs have the better watt/weight ratio. The QSCs don't seem as sturdily built so I keep them racked.I have switched mostly to QSC PLX series from Carver & Hafler & Yamaha.
Crown for power and reliability, Crest for sound quality, but not neccessarily better for subs.
