What is the most important criterion for an amplifier to determine
good bass slam. Is it a beefy power supply? A high damping factor?
Lots of capacitance? My subs use 18" Beymas in large reflex cabinets (home HI FI)
and I'm currently driving them with a spare McCormack DNA amp,
which sounds good, but I think maybe I could do better.
Any suggestions? Consumer oriented subwoofer amps I have seen
are all garbage.

Try out a Crown K2 or k1 amp these have a damping factor of over 3000 to 400hz. the Crown studio referance has a damping factor of 20,000 but these take a year to burn-in and are custom made may take a while to get and takes a year to soung great. Try these at a pro audio place.

I am an Audiophile & yes Burn in is a fact with high endgear due to the types of parts used (very well made & expensive !) The Crown Ref amp series are terrific amps !!!!!!!!Better than the Bryston. Bryston will ALWAYS be bright !
