I use them regularly and when conditioning them with a variable current limiting DC supply they settle into zero leakage rapidly. This is what you want and it is indicative of extremely low impedance, etc. If it was AC I'd say go for the Black Gates, however with DC the BC's are likely just as good. Spend the huge cost difference on the signal path.

Tom,Thanks for the helpful reply.
I have the current Digi-Key catalog. BC axial electrolytic choices (pages 1165 - 1168) include the following series:
SAL-A 123
ASM 021
AHT 118
AML118Which one is the one you recommend?
Thank you!
It settles to zero leakage very quickly so it can be considered an extremely fast electrolytic. Next time I might try the longer life AHT 118. About twice the price but extremely long shelf life so long storage will not destroy them like every other electrolytic out there.
....solid electrolye capacitors? Not good for an audio application?
Not as good as AML 138 or AHT 118 in an audio application?
I went through my Allied, Mouser, Newark and Digi-key catalogs. Looks like I will be going with the BC you recommend.
Thanks again.
implies very long life. The Sanyo Oscons are solid and widely considered among the best, although they are generally available in large quantities to manufaturers only. They are probably worth a listen!
