I'm interested in trying it but XMPLAY34.ZIP is currently corrupted. Did you have any problems with it?

The one with a British flag has a good zip...
I forgot which network mirror I used. It's a fantastic program I have to say. Lightweight and it sounds excellent. The detail of the acoustic strings really come out, and the atmosphere to the vocals, that sense of "air" is nicely produced. It almost sounds as good as my cd transport.
Thanks for posting about it, I'd never have found it otherwise. While I still need to play with it some more, I'm already tickled with it's tiny resource load on my ancient laptop. Sound-wise it's showing real promise and may well replace my favorite player, the little one in CDex151.What fun...
Dawnrazor: I noticed a checkbox last night to only allow a single instance. Not sure just WHERE it was but you'll find it. Don't know about playing single songs.
NP. I used to hang out with assembly/audio programmers when I was in high school. It seems one of that gang type decided to create an application that could play the .XM mod file type (I don't know this particular project head personally however). Later down the development cycle he included Ogg, FLAC (with a plugin) and Wav support. I haven't been into the Windows scene for awhile, I have just jumped back from the linux distro scene to see how things have progressed in the Windows world. While the OS has become bloated and overwritten for easy programming (hey Windows is a programming platform right? Might as well make it easy to write applications) there are still some hardcore coders out there who really know how to take advantage of the low level access to the hardware.
Is there a way to get it to only open in one window, and not play more than one song at the same time?It just sounded louder to me than Foobar, but not necessarily better, and the above issue makes it a no go.
I have changed the skins and fixed that first issue. There's a couple of skins to select to download from their site, I say try a couple and see which ones work for you. When opening the files hit "Ctrl-A" when you are in the folder to select all the files in the directory. It lines them up by track file name. If you name your tracks with ##'s there's no issues.
I noticed Foobar was softer in the presentation, but it didn't matter what track I played, there was a LOT more detail. In fact I am enjoying an album now using it. Foobar seems to smooth the sound, while XMPlay seems to playback closer to the RAW sound of the files.

But when I select another song or album or playlist, it opens a 2nd window of xm and the 2 play simultaneously.
There's a check box in miscellaneous panel 'allow ultiple instances'
