I really don't even know why I'm asking this , as my results using EAC have been nothing less than exceptional . I would go as far as to say that you haven't heard all that some(actually many) of your CDs have to offer if you haven't heard the EAC burn of said discs. Like everyone else though if there is something even better I would definitely like to try it.
Follow Ups:
I have used EAC/Lame and dbpoweramp with good results, but find Plextools faster with no noticeable problems.
I even switch from Mac OS X to Windows just to use Plextools....Extremely fast, clean, error-free - all rips are excellent. Files are ripped to WAV and comverted to Apple Lossless using iTunes. Playback on Mac OS X using iTuness straight into Wavelength Brick.

....from Poikosoft is reported to be quite versatile and much easier to use. I haven't implemented this as yet, but did hear some files on CD-R ripped via this software....all sounded great.I'd love it if someone more experienced with ripping software could do a definitive comparison and report their results.
I use both EAC and Easy CD-DA extractor, depending on the task.
they are both pretty darn good; my preference is to Poikosoft, as it's a one stop shop for me.
wow!
Higher quality as far as the percentage of error correction, or sound quality? Or both? Not putting your feet to the fire, just curious as to which might be more practical and easy to use, yet provide superb sound quality.
It uses the AccurateRip DB and C2 error info. Much faster than EAC in secure modeif your drive supplies C2 info. And it is sometimes able to read a track without error when EAC can't.
I switched to dBpowerAMP Reference, simple and yet very powerful when needed.
