This device is based on a really old chip that is obsolete now. It does not support 24/96 and requires ASIO4ALL to bybass Kmixer. I think if you get the Audiophile USB working and use a good ASIO plug-in with Foobar2K, you will get a much better result. SRC upsampling makes it even better.

Well for my first go at this it was nice to have success with out any work. I now have an Audiophile USB and I got it working on the PC with the new driver and on my laptop with the old driver(see my response to davehanc
I will look into Foobar and ASIO4ALL as I learn more

The driver with M-Audio will use the Foobar or Otachan ASIO. This is what you want.
FooBar looks complicated. IU have been to thier web site and downloaded the help stuff. Why is Foobar what most people use when thay claim there is no advantage(sound Quaility) to using thier product.
So it goes.........
Foobar is the best sounding player for USB IMO and has a wide variety of different plug-ins.
