Anyone else old enough to remember the Aphex Aural Exciter? I remember analog processed by one of these sounding fantastic immediately, but after living with it for a while it irritated - all sorts of time domain things going on.
EQ & HF Reverb sounds more innocuous if that's all the Bobcat does, but it may have to be lived with for a while until the ear/brain has a longer time to distinguish new/better from just different. Many tweaks I've done to various bits of kit have been reversed and/or tweaked again after a few weeks listening. A trial version of the Bobcat would reveal this...
Steve, I'd be interested in your impressions a bit further down the track.

David,Your point is excellent. Often what sounds different is accepted initially as better. I'll report back on the Bobcat after a month or so.
I for one would greatly appreciate that. I wish they had a trial version. Hell, I would pay them 20 bucks to try it out. I've always considered myself a minimalist but I have been thinking lately that DSP done right could be a good thing. I would love to try a good DSP program.
Unfortunately, they dont' have a trial version or a return policy. It would be good to try it, though I shudder at using Windows Media Player.
