My understanding, which may be wrong, is that ASIO was a part of the LYNX driver.
I did download ASIO4All, but didn't fool with it much.
I appreciate any input - I used to be pretty sharp on stuff of this nature but health issues and meds keep me from being as clear headed as I would like.

If you didn't go out of your way to use ASIO in Foobar, than you are not using it.YOu have to download the .dll file and put in the foobar component folder. For .9.3, go here: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/foo_out_asio.zip
For .8.3, I don't remember where to get that, but I am sure someone will let us know.
Then activate it under output in the preferences section.
Yes, the lynx has supports ASIO, but it only works if Foobar is outputting ASIO.
NOt sure if winamp supports ASIO without work on your part, but if it does, that could account for the diff. But some do say that winamp sounds better....
I enabled it under the output section and will give that a try.
