What, you mean someone likes the sound of a sound card sitting in that horrible PC environment?? DId they get their hearing checked???Seriously though, I will see if I can find where it was purchased, but I can't say for sure that I can reach they guy who e-mailed me that price...he is too busy listening to music.
Anyhow, I DID find it for $610 from bayviewproaudio.com.
Follow Ups:
I'm gonna follow up a little later.I'm dog tired.
Really tough couple days - went well, made some good bucks - but gotta decompress.
Best regards
Im sure the Lynx L22 and RME 96/8 are great sounding, but they seem to be way to many features that Ill never need, it seems like overkill. Does anyone make a card of this quality but with basic features. Im not going to be doing any recording so I don't need all the I/O that these pro cards have. I just want a very high quality but basic stereo sound card, I don't need tons of i/o since im not doing any recording. I need just a basic RCA or XLR output, a spdif output and thats pretty much all I really need. M-audio's Audiophile 24/192 is closer to what I need but id like something a little higher quality.Does RME or Lynx make a more basic soundcard??? How about the Linx Studio Tech One, this seems like it has a more basic set of features and I/O than the L22???
Thanks
Frank
Frank,The L22 has one pair of analog outs and one pair of inputs. It has a digital out and a digital in. It is really hard to get more basic.
I too didn't think I needed the ins on the 2b, but believe me, I can find uses for them, and probably will add a tuner of some sort. And I AM using the digital out for headphone listening, and will probably end up using the digital in too.
and eventually want to do away with the digital crossover - and do it all in the PC - under that scenario I can likely sell the BSS digital crossover for more than cost of the card.I can't remember why I crossed the RME off my list -
RME HammerFall Digi 96/36, is out of production but has a good reputation and someone said the price is dropping. There are Linux drivers and it can therefore run the Acourate software.
The Lynx lineup is a little confusing to me - I didn't have time and am too ADHD to do well reading the product line - so I went to the Lynx forum and pulled some the tech supports posters phone and extension numbers.
I called several times, talked with knowledgeable, english speaking tech guys that knew what they were talking about - they seemed eager to help and didn't seem bothered - you ought to give them a call to see what is the appropriate Lynx product for you.
The ability to readily call and get someone that speaks English and knows what they are talking about factored heavily into my decision. Plus, while the forum is somewhat low traffic - it is there and functional.
