Pls. can someone point me toward the explanation when to rip Cd as a single WAV with cue file?
Follow Ups:
THe main benefit is that it groups all your songs together, so if you want to listen to the whole album, it is automatically done.I have ripped both (yes, I have ripped my whole collection twice now) and if I had to do it again, I would do the cue sheets over the single .wav file method anyday. It just allows you to manage things a lot easier...well at least for me in foobar 09.3.
.cue sheets kind of make the .wavs act like they support tagging. Admittedly, with the latest foobar and all the columns ui plugins, it probably doesn't matter, except that it just takes more work to make the single .wavs work like the .cue sheets.
I have 1 in 10 cds get stuck trying to collect the gap info when creating a single FLAC and cue. I am using eac.
You might try different gap detection methods in EAC.Here is a tutorial that might help
Thanks for the insight, I will consider it. Also, I have noticed that when I am ripping as a single wav, both processors in AMD X2 are kicking in and the ripping is going much faster while when ripping as a single wav only one is doing the ripping chore.
