The review says "By the end of this month the Cosecant will no longer be the top dog in the Wavelength stable of USB DACs "He's had the ultimate for some time so I don't get it.
I was thinking of buying a Cosecant but now I'll wait to see what happens next. I can't find anything on Wavelength's website about this.
Gordon?
Follow Ups:
Herman,I pickup the last piece of metal this morning and should have something on the news page by Friday. All the board work is in but there is a little programming left to do to make it all come together.
The Crimson is a new generation idea using the TAS1020 and custom programming to really get the best out of USB Audio.
Basically 3 versions:
A) Basic DAC output tube 71A, rectifier 6V4
B) Basic + Volcontrol higher gain output tube 101L/M, rectifier 6V4
C) Headphone output tube 6H30, SS rectificationDAC is modular and upgradable with code on each board.
There is a ton of stuff that I have done on these in the last 10 months of development. But really this is not the place for that.
Should be shipping A in a few weeks.
I can wait but I'm curious about the price. The 71A is an unusual choice. A great tube but you don't see it used very often.. I use it as a driver for my 300B and have some extras laying around.
Three different models, including one for headphone use. $7500 and up.
7500$ to 10000$ for an usb dac......so peanuts, so peanuts...
Good English. Or should I say English good.
merci sir...
