I recently got the new PS audio DAC is it sounds really amazing. However the only thing I have to compare it to is anold Entec Number Cruncher and my previous DAC which was the built in upsampling DAC from my Outlaw Audio 990 HT processor.Like many here- I find feeding the Dacs from my Macbook via USB sounds so much better than via my STan Warren modded toslink Aiwa transport/player.
Is there any further though on premium USB cables- searching here didnt seem to provide a clear consensus.
Also I noticed that playing a file directly from the Macbook sounded better than the same file being wirelessly sent from my Mac Pro tower. (and sounds better than Optical from the tower also)
I think Anyone looking for a resonably priced DAC with full balanced out would be insane not to try the PS AUdio for 30 days to listen to it. (but then again I'm a PS audio freak- my whole system had evolved into PS Audio - save for Cerious Cables and this weekend the Cerious Two speaker system))
Follow Ups:
copper USB cables make no audible difference in my setup - I've tried 10 foot no name against 3 foot premium. No difference. However, optical USB, galvanically isolating the PC from the audio gear, makes a huge difference, especially if the receiver end is battery powered. Premium price for this solution, but in the big picture, it's money well spent.

Hi emailists,I have been researching dacs for a while now, and have never actually come across this one before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Did you get a chance to compare it to the Benchmark or Apogee before you made your decision by any chance?
regarding the 2 questions:The wireless refering to was a simple router - I tunes on my macbook laptop can play shared files over my local network - surprsignly it didnt sound as good as playing locally off the laptop.
I have not compared the PS Audio unit to either dac- just the upsampling one built into the Outlaw 990.
