Gang,Several people have asked me about really micro pc's. I remember seeing that orange PC with the card slot with USB 1.1, VGA and Ethernet.
But darn if I cannot find it in here.

You aren't thinking of the Foxconn e-bot are you?
Thanks, BUT this was posted a while back, orange squarish thing 2x3x3?????
I think you mean the T-Cube. I'm not sure if this ever wound up as a real product. All I can find now are some press releases about development work but no actual details. It might be under a completely different name. Its based on the T-engine architecture (MIPS based). It has its own tiny OS, although I did find a reference to a linux version for it.It certainly would not be up to running windows!
John,No it was here that I saw it... it was a little squarish orange powdercoated (I think it came in other colors) metal box that used one of those... I think SBX type stackable mother boards.
It had a USB port, memory card, ethernet and a VGA.
Wasn't it reviewed in one of the computer magazines? I vaguely remember thumbing through one of the computer magazines at the store and seeing a orange computer in a small format factor shoot out.
I think it was one of these ezines for electronic gadgets and some linked that into here via the URL & picture.
I use the systemC134 from Logic supply, its pretty small and fanless. It does have a hard disk and optical drive. Without the fan it runs warm but not hot, just make sure you don't put anything on the top that would block the ventilation holes! For one significantly smaller try the Damn Small Machine, brought to you by the Damn Small Linux folks. No hard disk or optical drive (its not big enough for that), but can be had with various amounts of flash disk (or none, you can run it direct from a USB flash drive). Of course you can get it with DSL or not and load your own OS. Since it does not have a hard disk you can either use it as a local player for a separate server or plug in USB or NAS drives. I wouldn't use it as a gaming machine though.

Logic Supply has a range of fanless mini-PC systemshttp://www.logicsupply.com/index.php/cPath/49
Is that what you are looking for. There is also the new breed of ultraportable PC from OQO, Samsung, etc.
Cheers
But you'll be hard pressed to beat the Shuttle X100 .
I bet the fan can be heard!!
