Hey guys, I am planning to get a PC audio system. My friend insists that PC audio is (such as squeezebox or digital output from sound card) as good sonic quality as or even better than top top transport such as a Wadia, when both systems have same DAC. Please, give me some advice. Thanks.

Seems pretty good. It surely beats my Philips 963SA as a transport I think. I am still trying to figure out to get more performance out of it.

Hello,
I have a two input DIY tube preamp with selection being done by an on-on switch. I have a PC based music server [VRS Audio] so it is possible to compare two sources by simply flipping a switch. We compared several, including high-end player vs. VRS Audio and there was very little contest: VRS Audio von every time, albeit by different margins.
... there are inherent benefits to playing back data via a harddisk over a disc transport.
