While I easily hear differences between and among power cords, I have never felt that a power cord can make or break my version of sonic happiness, so I would not get that worked up over the decision. I personally like ribbon-type interconnects and power cords, so the Mikro-Omega's might be a nice choice. But if they are too expensive, why not go with the lower echelon Maple Shade ones? Pierre Sprey knows what he is doing. I made my own power cords for my Atma MA240s, using Goertz copper speaker wires.

I'm sorry Lew, can you, will you explain to me how a power cord can make a difference? Rather than take up space here you can e-mail me.Thanks...Tre'

"Still working the problem"
Tre', Apart from the obvious, like the fact that one power cord may be more susceptible to RF than another, etc, I have no freakin' idea why one power cord sounds different from another. I have a suspicion that some boutique designs sound "different" because they are actually somewhat resistive to the big gobs of current that some amplifiers demand. I do know that I once spent several days listening to 4 or 5 different cords on my Atma-sphere amplifiers. The ones I tried cost up to about $600 each retail. I thought I heard differences. Cost had little to do with "goodness". Two fairly expensive AC cords were actually worse than the factory-supplied cords. Two were better, but we are talking slightly better, not earth-shatteringly better. One of those latter was a ribbon-type design, so I made my own cords using Goertz copper ribbon speaker wire that was lying around my basement. As I tried to imply, I am not a big believer in super-expensive power cords, so I would not care to take the position that they are critical determinants of audio Nirvana. You are welcome to contact me if you want to discuss the issue further.
Lew,Thanks for the feedback. I quite like the stuff from Mapleshade I have heir interconnects and a power strip). I'm concerned however with using their power cables from a safety perspective. Unfortunately my cat seems irresistably drawn to those plastic sleeves, as I fear will children, which is why I'm looking into alternatives. I've managed to get away withthe power strip thus far because I have it elevated on a makeshift platform, and blocked off by a couple of cardboard boxes, putting it out of reaching of prying hands (or paws in this case).
If your cat can eat through the plastic tubes on the Mapleshade power cords, he or she should be in a zoo.
Hah! Not sure if she can penetrate the plastic but she certainly tries. Its that long stingy clear plastic that's irresistable to both cats and dogs.
