Hook it up using high level inputs, the main out from your pre-amp. use "Y" cords if your pre-amp doesn't have two sets of outputs.

Some of the REL subwoofers have line-level inputs, some don't. I tried both the speaker-level inputs and line-level inputs using an output from my preamp. I definitely liked the speaker-level inputs better--the deep bass was better integrated with the bass from the main speakers. This seemed to make an even bigger difference when using my SET amps and OTL amps.
That's interesting and not what I would expect. The low tones are going through both amps before emerging from the subwoofer. I would think this would cause a sonic degradation.
But hey! There is a problem with using an circlotron OTL and speaker level inputs that share ground, left and right. The left and right amps do not share a ground (at the speaker outputs). I don't know how to get around this.
It's the same problem driving headphones with a circlotron.Tre'

The reason the sub sounds better using the speaker-level inputs is that they see the same signal the speakers do. Yes, I did try using the line-level outputs on my preamp and using the amp to drive the satellites full-range, and also using an external crossover to route only the lowest bass to the sub. This last setup didn't sound as good, probably because the crossover added some distortion to the signal. I don't know much about the circlotron circuits, but it sounds like you will have to go the line-level inputs to the sub. If your sub doesn't have these inputs I believe you can order them from REL. I did on my Storm III.
