Wow. Well, I thought I apologized enough. Would someone please explain the following email I received (directly, I think). I don't know whether it's offensive (in which case my answer is "whatever") or not (in which case I'm just puzzled). Strange email pasted below:Audio Asylum Email from Mike Mount:
query: schematic or feedback re: Atma-Sphere amps

I WILL resist well deserved insults and comments,
you have already surpassed and suprized many here.

From an email that for some reason didn't post to the thread, though it looked like it should. My response is at the bottom.Re: the strangest email. can anyone explain?
------------------------------
I cannot speak for Mike Mount, but having met him and spoken with him a few
times, I know he is an enthusiast of OTL designs and Atma-Sphere.I couldn't miss your recent post, linked below, in which you called
Atma-Sphere's descriptions and so forth BS hype but by your own admission
had neglected to research their patents (which do exist - that's no hype).
Ralph Karsten has always been very open about things yet has exercised his
right to patent his designs, but at the same time he is ever helpful, a
righteous fellow. I think the rest has been said very well in the thread
below, and Mike's email to you emphasized that in a terse way. The bottom
line is, do your homework first, then ask questions and treat others
graciously, and you'll probably get some helpful responses. In that spirit,
I'll be happy to do what I can for you.Out of curiosity, what is Radiance Labs LLC about? According to your Inmate
registration as a manufacturer, you describe yourself as an aspiring kit
manufacturer.Yes, I have built a prototype tone screamer guitar amp for my son, and I think it has some nice improvements on the Tweed's and Toress' designs, so I'm planning to put it into kit form for teenagers who want a really nice tone amp for recording and very small gigs, but which also (optional) incorporates a "true Power" gig booster that greatly increases the volumne through additinal speakers but KEEPS the tone. It's a very niche market, but I think I've got a nice entry product into that game. I plan to follow that with my own audio "perfection" design with SET OTL amplified speakers and a central channel/preamp/line mixer (again, in the seaker cabinet); it's a totally integrated system; it'll have two cost structures: ridiculously expensive for rich people, and ridiculously cheap for poor people like me who are willing to trade a lot of hard work to have something just as good as what the rich boys have.
Despite my stupid questions - which aren't always so stupid - I have probably fifty years in electronics, audio and radio; I'm not the grteatest audio math guy in the universe but I'm a bulldog with tweaking until the combo sounds right and I dearly love my oscilloscope. Need to get a serious gigaherz storage scope next - I have recently become very sensitive to the absolute that no RF transients can be allowed to get through from the PS. Anyway, I'm concentrating on one speaker and designing everythibng else to optomize the speakers' qualities. I have a few teaks that I am hoping will give me some tiny yet valuable patents; I will happilly provide all the plans a DIY'er could want, but I hope that the kit will be so well priced and so enticing that a lot of DIY'ers will just opt for the kit. I will also savage anyone who tries to rip me off commercially (China, consider yourself warned)! The speaker, by the way, will be a very serious array that, as far as I've been able to research on the net, does have two tweaks in it that just might be patentable. A mountain of hard work still to go, though. Thanks for asking.

Just be aware of who has trod ahead of you. Particularly if you're asking the designer manufacturer for the schematics to the core technology...www.renditionaudio.com/evolution.html

yeah i agree with you under normal circumstances, but in this particular case i've already repeatedly apologized, so I've had it with people continuing to beat me up.
So, strange emails that appear to be offensive or accusatory are just going to be posted here; I'm not going to take any more abuse. Enough is enough. My original mistake wasn't all that big a deal, certainly not something I should be opening a vein over, it was just a spontaneous reaction to all the high end hype out there, something that between friends would have elicited a mild corrective response and a friendly acknowledgement and then life would have moved on. In a forum like this, however, as I have now learned, for some people it's not about friendly discussion and letting life move on it's about pig-piling abuse on anybody who makes a politically-incorrect post in an unguarded moment. Yippee! What fun!!! Let's all get our pent-up hatreds out on the new guy who made a mistake!!!!

You are keeping alive an issue that would otherwise have died a natural death some time last week. No one hates you. Ralph is not even perturbed, and he is the only one who might be said to have been affected. Lets relax and move on.
I suggest you ask the sender what he meant. My impression is that it's customary to try to deal with issues raised in an e-mail by replying to that e-mail, and only resort to airing the matter on a public forum when all else has failed and the need is clearly pressing.
