I own a Futterman OTL 4 which I have had hooked up to 15 ohm Rogers LS3/5A's for over 20 years. The Rogers just developed a problem so I am in the market for new speakers. Things just fall apart when the speakers dip below 6 ohms nomal. Any suggestions

You may want to contact Richard Allan in the UK for the options to fix your LS3/5A. Was told some time ago by a dealer that they commissioned KEF to produce the identical speaker units for the LS3/5A in order to be able to support the existing LS3/5A's

Regards,
In the latest S'phile, just delivered to me a few days ago so possibly not yet on the newsstand, there is a note regarding the re-birth of Rogers as a brand name. Apparently, the new owners of the name have also dredged up several or several dozen pairs of NOS Rogers LS3/5A speakers that are now for sale with new warranty, etc, , if you want to go in that direction. Price seemed quite reasonable.
Quad ESL 57s, Lowthers, Zu Druid...
Speltz zeroformers may be the ticket for matching your amplifier to a wide range of unfortunately designed but listenable speakers.
Ummm.... Do you mean to say that you have a New York Audio Labs (NYAL) OTL4? NYAL made an amplifier with this designation, but Futterman did not. Most Futterman amplifiers still in use are of the "H3aa" model type. NYAL and Futterman are not synonymous, although NYAL amps are Futterman type amplifiers. Anyway, I think the Rogers monitor is still available, made in England perhaps by a different company with a different model name. I think I saw a favorable review of it in the last year or so. Possibly you want to go to the speaker asylum to learn about other possibilities for speakers to match your amplifiers. It is quite likely that any speaker with a true nomial impedance of 8 ohms or higher will work well. However, most randomly chosen speakers these days are more like 4-ohms impedance. For what it's worth, most ESL speakers (exceptions being Martin-Logan and unmodified Sound Labs), but especially older Quads, are made in heaven for matching with an OTL amplifier like yours.
