Yesterday, February 14th 2006, was Ralph K's 50th birthday. Seems almost impossible, yet the numbers don't lie. (Also, several individuals at a small party confirmed the fact.)Ralph - Thanks for all the years of friendship, and a job that I still look forward to doing every day. Throughout your personal and professional life, you've set a consistent standard of kindness, integrity and generousity that inspires everyone around you. I think I speak for more than just myself, when I say that it's an honor to know and work with you. Happy 50th, dood.
Anyway, don't be shy you all.. chime in and wish the old guy a happy half-century!
Follow Ups:
Hey Old Timer,Thanks for the great amps and the music they've uncorked.
F. Crane-proud owner of ancient M-50s...(I blew one up but I'll fix it someday.)
Happy belated Birthday Ralph !!! You just know that the music Gods are looking down and smiling :).
We say in Italy: 100s of these days!
may there be 50 more!
Happy Birthday Ralph. Wish you many more
Happy birthday, Ralph and thanks again for all the great advice, let alone the awesome creations.
Thanks y'all for the messages on and off line.People have asked me if 50 feels any different. I'm not sure but the AARP letter and that weird organization that wanted me to be 'buried with dignity' was a little offsetting... I'm wondering if I know those guys from somewhere :)
Anyway, 50 seems about the same. Thanks again!
Welcome to the club pal : )
.
No, you're thinking of the 2600, which was a video game system built & sold by Atari in the early-mid 70s.
Actually, the synth company is/was ARP, and the 2600 WAS one of their synths in the early/mid 70's.Just listen to any number of Genesis albums from that time period and you'll hear Tony Banks play the 2600 (amongst a few other notables ARPs and Moog 'boards of the era)... (besides grand piano and Hammond L series organs)...
Oh yes, I happen to own a 2600- finicky bastard board it is (but hey, isn't ALL old analog?)...
Cheers,
Dman
GREAT GEAR DESTROYER!!!
Dear Ralph,
Happy birthday Ralph! And a special thanks for all the help and care you have provided since I jumped into the world of tubes! I can't imagine my life without Atma-sphere in it.
Happy Birthday, Ralph!

I join the club myself in March of '07.
I had never met Ralph until last month in Las Vegas. I had always felt guilty though, for building a pair of knock off MA-1 amps about 12 years ago, using a schematic obtained from a third party. Then at THE Show, I noticed that Ralph was sitting across the table at lunch. I 'fessed up and told him about my amps. He wasn't the least bit upset, and gave me several tips on the circuit. Later that day Ralph visited our demo room, just as I was pulling an amp out of service because I couldn't balance the DC from the output. Next thing I knew, Ralph was on the floor pulling hot output tubes until he found the offender with a broken fuse link. What a guy!
Hi Ralph !!! By all means HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!
Allow me to join in the congratulations! Delighted to hear you've finally crossed the half-centennial mark with others among us!Warm regards and best wishes,
Rush
Sad for me to think that I am older than you.
Happy Birthday to you Ralph! And Thanks for the friendly and Awesome support you have given me through the years!
Good to hear you made it, Ralph! Hats off to one of the most genuine people in the industry, a real music lover and a true gentleman. Not to mention you build great sounding gear! Here's wishing you many more.
Happy belated Birthday Ralphy Boy! Thanks for all the years of producing what I believe to be some of the best equipment money can buy. I'd also like to thank you for all the many, many, many, many hours of pure listening pleasure I have had since buying my first Atma-Sphere product close to 15 years ago. As everyone else has alluded to; Ralph is one in a million and one of the most down to earth people on the planet. It's a pleasure to know you dude! God bless you and here's looking to another half century!
