I am writing to tell other members about my experience with site thursdays.com oldies web site. I placed an order for about 7 albums and when received was messed up. Two of the albums were supposed to be Mono as described on their site and when received were Stereo and 2 were graded as EX, which I consider as little if any scratches or surface noise. These 2 had lots of scratches and surface noise and would be graded poor to good at best by me. The rest were ok. When I contacted them, the administrator said I must be mistaken as we do not make mistakes. I told him the above and he went off, saying I was being extremely critical. I told him I had been collecting records for 35 years and know a mono from a stereo one and if a record is graded as EX, it should have very few scratches. He stated his company believed in the philosophy that the customer is always wrong and furthermore he was stamping me as a nuisance and banning me from ordering any more from them. I sent the records back, but haven/t heard anything. Don't know if they will refund my money or not. I thought I would warn any others not to order anything from this site. Thanks.
Follow Ups:
A record graded EX should have absolutely no audible scratches.
I agree. Can you believe these people accused me of switching records with the scratchy ones. Wish I could get my hands on this jerk.
That's porbably only about half right! The administrator sounds like a jerk. Did you pay via CC? You can probably demand a charge-back if you did. If you paid cash, check or M.O. you're most likely screwed. You'll get more responses to this post (and better advice than I have to offer) in the Vinyl Asylum. Good luck!
