No shame!! I really don't like that tenor player on #1 either. I've been thinking of all the cats I'm not fond of. I was wrong with Johnny Griffin but he was the one I thought would be playing all those useless notes. The unfortunate fact is if your not fond of some cats you don't listen to them and that makes it hard. Or is that Ciala??
Follow Ups:
Oh well, win some, lose some. I'm just embarrassed because I didn't remember that RM record with FH and, uh, the other guy from your site a few months back. I had a senior moment during the last round with that Hackett/Teagarden thing. I bought that record little over a year ago, but haven't spent quite the time with it that it probably merits. Is this a hazard of owning a lot of records, or am I starting to get old? Is this how it starts, Barry? Hold me, I'm scared.

You can handle it. Stand tall and proud and repeat your name over and over again so you don't forget who you are.Do you know that most of these things Kava put on were almost in my sweet spot by year. #5 I saw in the 50's and beyond, I heard Joe a million times and have a fair amount of his records, I have the RM thing and it just dawned on me that I forgot all about #3. I'll have to listen to that again. Sounds like a West Coast trumpet player but I didn't hear enough yet.

P.S. Hang on. You'll survive but you will never be as happy.
Stop it guys. I'm about 10 months away from officially entering dotage myself and I'm trying to block out all pessimistic thoughts :)I really like Kramer's response to a heckling ball-boy:
Boy: Hey pops, isn't there a better way to spend your twilight years.
Kramer: I may be old, but I'm spry.
I would like to welcome you officialy into dotage when it arrives. I can tell you that a lot of your innards stop working properly IMMEDIATELY. You must quit working and only do what you want to do at the time because time becomes more important but at the same time less important. Forget about your neighbors because they are useless slugs. That's just a few little things to start thinking about. When the time comes I will be there to console you.
getting close myself, at 59. I'm working on developing an appropriate degree of apathy regarding the things I can't remember, things that take me twice as long to do, things I just consider too much of pita to do. Am I on the right track?
You certainly are but remember to not go too gently into the night. Develop an attitude of "the wise old guy" so you will be respected and loved for your ineptitude. Be patient with yourself but show some impatience for others. Eccentricity, even feigned is lovable to the younger set. Heed my advice and you will probably get smacked by someone.

Quick listen before I have to cook. Trumpet could be almost anybody from out there like maybe JS or even SR. Guitar player might be a transplant????
