Thanks.
Follow Ups:
Artis Quartet on Accord, Pacifica Quartet on Cedille. I did a review of the latter comparing it with the former on PF an issue or so ago but can't access the site to give you the link at the moment. Both of these are very good, the Artis probaby the better if you can find it.
I enjoy the set done by the Pacifica Quartet on Cedelle. I have the Emerson set and bought the Pacifica based on a review in Fanfare, July/Aug 2005 (Vol 28. #6). They are different and, at present, I'm enjoying the Pacifica more.
I just heard the Quartet in F minor, Op. 80, performed live last night by the Mendelsshon Quartet. Very nice.
I have the excellent budget set on 3 CD’s by the Henschel Quartet on Arte Nova. The other versions I have for comparison are by Ysaye on Decca (now available as a budget set) and Coull Qt on Hyperion (best recording quality of the group, though the Arte Nova is fine too.)You might also try the Pacifica Qt on Cedille who’ve received excellent reviews in both Fanfare and ClassicsToday.com

...although I don't know if it's currently available. Can you explain why you're not interested in the Emerson set? Don't like 'em? Don't like their recording? Already got it and want another?
