I would like to try biamping my 2.6R's.
I have a Behringer dcx 2496 , and would use a PS Audio HCA 2 and a Sunfire amp to actively biamp.
Woud I just hook the amps outputs to the + and - of the ribbon and bass panel? Don't want to risk any damage to the ribbon.
Would prbably use the PS audio on the ribbon and sunfire on the bass panel.
Any help is appeciated.
Joe
Follow Ups:
In order to actively bi-amp the 2.6R you will need to do a bit of surgery. You will need to complete by-pass the internal crossover but leave the 2 ohm resistor in series with the tweeter. The tweeter only has 1.45 ohms of impedance and without the resistor you will fry the HCA-2. You may want to keep the tweeter fuse in place until you are sure that your amp will not clip (I am using a HCA-2 on my biamped IIIa's with no fuse and no problems). Also you will need to add another set of input jacks so you have one set for the bass and one set for the tweeter.
I may be an egoist but at least I don't talk about other people.
I'll give it a try this weekend and report back how it sounds.
I used the wrong 2.6 schematic (taken from the "Tweaks" page), and the component values are different than those in your speakers. However the principle is the same.Correct original schematic:
