during the breakin period. :-) The initial sound is harsh, brittle and enemic. Made Satchmo sound like mickey mouse, my teeth squeak, hair hurt, women and children cry … Congrats!

LOL. priceless...never thought of teeth squeaking...ha haI know that playing them at high volume almost constantly is the best way to break them in however I don't have that luxery.right now for the most part. I may put them in my studio room and cover them with comforters the 1st week or two, but damn...I wanna hear 'em so bad now that I finally bought them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long did it take to break your 3.6'ds in?For me & my 1.6's it took an initial 2-3 months of almost constant LOUD playing (cdp on repeat when I was not home) w/ a comforter over each speaker.
Unfortunately I do not have that luxury now. My landlord above me, which her living room is in the same place as mine just up one floor w/ almost nothing to insulate the sound. I basically have worked out a scedule w/ her on when I can play loud, & yes I'll probably be moving again when I get the chance...still deciding on back to the west coast or the east shore...with a final thought of Paris or someplace else outside of this country!
OK i'm drunk and sleep deprived...took me way to long to write this...
Hope it makes sence in one way or another,
I think mine started showing their true colors at ~80hrs and finally settled down at ~200hrs. What amp are you using?

Sorry, I missed your post...I'm currently using modded Rogue Audio m-150 mono's w/ nos input tubes, but will soon be getting Rogues' Zeus. That should take care of ANY power issues along w/ sounding great of course ;-)
