clammy hands off them. Now if I were a bit younger and had a bigger listening room . . .

Follow Ups:
Not sure of our age difference, I'm 32 myself, but I can say without a doubt that I love my 1.6's to death and seriously doubt I will sell them. They will be moved to my bedroom (where I've used them before w/ great results compared with the current speakers in there (Definitive Technology BP10's).3 out of my 4 rooms are now dedicated to audio (one of them being my music studio), but my living room is for my main system and soon to be new home of 3.6's.
Glad I'm not married yet! No way this would be possible...
> Glad I'm not married yet! No way this would be possible... <You might be surprised just what is possible. My wife loves listening with me and is very supportive of my hobby. As a matter of fact, it was her that encouraged me to recently buy pair of 8K+ speakers.
You just have to keep looking, there might be one out there for you too...;-}}

I've had a few girlfriends over the years that really like MY music, but never really got into the idea of just sitting down and doing serious listening for a few hrs. at a time. But, just being able to play (classical or electric guitar) and have them seriously listen or to be asked to play some music to lullaby them to sleep always made me feel good. Though I let the one special one get away years ago and it's to late for that one now.
You're a lucky guy, at least with the music aspect it sounds like you picked a winner!
Same here . . . sigh.

I'm only three months younger than you. 42 years ago would have been the 1964-1965 school year. I was only a 19 yr old freshman in college at the time. Did you do the math correctly? ;-)

lol :)
looks like the bed is ummmmmm a lil in the way. I'll post a pic of my room w/ my 1.6's in it when I put them back there.I gotta say though, that the maggies will be setup for me to listen to while I'm in bed. From looking at your pic I'd guess that my bedroom is a lil longer. Haven't measured, but it's probably about 14-16x18-20.
Yeah the problems of great speakers in less than optimal placement...lol
Take cre bro,
kind of like a big listening chair.... but there is a built in bookcase with an antique marble desktop there.Mine is 14.5 x 15.... nice and square :-(
It's just a temporary 'rental type' situation though while I stash money away for my own house.. which will have a nicely proportioned dedicated room!
Room?!?! Damn...well I know of many people that have it worse than you, but in your posts that I've read I got the feeling you had a dedicated listening room.14.5x15 ummmmm...yeah a lil bit too square on that part.No worries, when I lived in Manhatten my room was so small that I literally had very close listening sessions whether I liked it or not!
Jon...sleep deprived, slightly drunk and out for the night...
I'm going to shoot for a place with a 16x20 room or so next.
Sounds good. And good luck to ya!My living rom, which iz my dedicated listening room (no wife) is about 16.5x25 plenty of room as far as I'm concerned, and compared to where I've had my system setup in the past this is actually the largest space I've had by quite a bit...I mean one helluva lot!
Jon
maybe a formal living with french doors behind the listening chair so I can open it up and have music through most of the house if I want or have them shut for more intimate listening ... and then a separate den or whatever for TV and couch.Like you... no husband (I'm a girl).. so I can get away with it.
Yes, I'm actually still awake...;-)From the pic of the bedroom I knew there had to be a woman's touch without a doubt, but honestly I have always thought you were a guy...no offense...actually it's great to know that there's at least 1 (well I know of a couple on A.A.) female that can have this passion for the love of music and to bring it to the highest level feasible to create a music environment that truly makes you happy.
I doubt, if you had a husband he would mind the speakers, but then again who knows.
Looks like you have a good idea of what you want. Hope the best for you on getting it!
Jon
enjoy your 3.6s!
