Return to Planar Speaker Asylum

Hi All,I'm considering MMG's for my vintage system. I have a marantz 2252B. Will this receiver work well with these speakers? I'm new to ribbons and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Follow Ups:
I used my MMG's with a Marantz 27 (30 Watts/ch) receiver with no problems at a reasonable level (mid 80's db) as long as you don't get too carried away with the bass control (particularly don't crank up the bass while the loudness button is engaged!). Actually it was a very nice warm sounding combination. It wont rock the house but the Marantz house sound from that era combines very well with the maggies
For a day or so, I hooked up my Advent 300 (15Watt 8 Ohms Not rated for 4 Ohms even) And it pushed the MMGS to "normal" listening levels. My 60 HK RCVR did a bit better - the bottom end dynamics felt better - one thing you will notice is that you will be rotating the volume knob a lot more past 12:00 with the mmg's as they are only a realistic 83 dB per watt at one meter output. But remember most people's "Normal" listening level on the average is around 80-85dB for music. Now I have them biamped with 230 Watts top and bottom and they effortlessly seem to move air... BTW: A big subwoofer handles the bottom end.
check this out, I used a vintage Marantz 1060 int amp (30 watts per channel)on my 1.6's and it sounded marvelous. Never ran hot, never strained.Granted, I kept the volume low and only ran it no more than an hour per session, but it kept up! And here's the kicker: it threw out great bass! (I kid you not).
However, I wouldn't recommend it as a permanent solution (in between amps) and I'm certain a significant amount of damage would've occured through prolonged usage but it sustained me for a couple weeks.

If the thing is anything like my Marantz 2230 (in da cosmic bedroom...) we're looking at separates in one box. Is there a pair of connectors on the back between the preamp section and the amp section?
Use the thing for now, and find another amp for ramping things up. You can buy a decent Hafler DH-2xx for under $250.
