Mart - How about this ? - What if you posted in the MUG tweaks section a list of first names, location area, Maggie model number and Email addresses of people who wouldn't mind giving a demo of their Magnepan speaker? That way a prospective buyer or maybe someone who would just like to hear the "Magnepan type sound" could contact the person by Email and maybe set up a time to come over and listen. I know that Tyler Acoustics, which sells their speakers by internet only, does exactly that. They call it their "Home Demo Program" at >> http://www.tyleracoustics.com/home_demo.htmlMaybe you could call it the Maggie Home Demo Program. There are probably many potential owners of Magnepan speakers that would feel uncomfortable going into an "Audio Salon" and listening but would feel more at ease listening in a home environment and getting some truthful input from someone who actually owns the speakers. Personally, I live in central New England, and wouldn't mind giving a demo of my 3.6R's to someone in the New York/New England area who is interested. I have also owned and have experience with the sound of MMG's and 1.6 QR's. Maybe some of the other inmates could chime in here with comments about the usefulness of such a program ?
Follow Ups:
1 - There already is a Maggie in home demo program. Call them and buy a pair of MMG's. Home demo them. If you don't like them, they buy them back. What more could anyone want?2 - Not only is posting the info a bad idea as everyone pointed out, putting our emails up there for crawlers will insure that everyone who participates will be getting spammed out the wazoo in short order.
I'm all for sharing the love but this isn't the way. If anyone wishes to spread the word, invite friends over to hear your stereo.
Isn't this area loaded with Maggie dealers? And isn't that their whole purpose of existence? And even if one doesn't haven any intention of buying new ones from them, one still will go to them and audition the maggies there.I see this kind of thing for internet only brands, but rarely on ones with extensive dealer presence.
Broadcasting the location of expensive systems is not something I will encourage. Not all surfers are like this crew. Among preponderance of sociable lurkers, there are a few nefarious ones that restrict just how much info should be published. Even with releases, I just might get sued anyway.

and started sending me harrassing emails when I posted he was a crook and how to sue him. Imagine getting him in your house, and not being able to get him to leave. As he smokes and eyes your teenage daughter.
the real reason I have tube traps. They're set up to snare interlopers.
I've posted on a number of boards listing my equipment (or on other boards what cars I own). My profile pretty much always lists at least the town I live in & some of my car pictures have shown my house address & street name. There is almost always at least one Porsche sitting on my driveway, and always unlocked.
Unlike my neighbor, I don't keep the car keys in the car (keep 'em in my jacket pocket since I always wear the same jacket, but don't always drive the same car).
Wanna come over & check out some Soundlab Pristine 2s, or Apogee Stages, or Gallo Nuc Ref 3s? Send me a note & we'll work out a time to come on over.
I'd list my address here, but it seems that Asylum inmates must be nuts or something.
...Now where's my shotgun? Nope. Not that one. The other one...
DO you live in Decatur or something?I lived in Chicago 10 years, and I can gaurantee you that there are no Porsch owners who leave their car unlocked, or cars with keys in them.
I do imagine that the folks in Quincy don't have those issues.
Here's what's on the driveway at the moment (actually a bit filthy at the moment, but I DID just clear the snow off :) ).
Um, you shoveled the snow off the grass? Pretty good trick. I live in Shorewood, Il., just south of Elgin. By 10 a.m., Dec 1, there was 6 inches of snow in my driveway. Areas north of me got hit even harder. There's no f@#%ing way that picture was shot in the Elgin- O'hare area today.
I did happen to mention that the car was filthy in my original post & didn't imply the photo was from that day...
You have got to love a 964 guy that drives his car in the snow!
My hat is off to you sir ;^J
I can see all the shoveled pushed off to the side!

I even get phony telemarketers (pardon the pun) that are trying to steal my ID. I also get SPAM posing as a reputable institution to surreptitiously confiscate my account via a fraudulent ID check.
