Roger Clemens is a Yankee"Man is the only animal that blushes - or needs to" Mark Twain
Follow Ups:
I don't have the particulars, but between Steinbrenner and Clemens himself, I don't see anybody to turn my back on. Clemens is not a nice guy. I guess that's what makes him valuable on the mound.I think he's too far over the hill to be of much value for the dollar. I doubt he'll make much difference.
As far as only posting topics that the off-continent types can understand -- that whining pops up every time, and it's always one way. Screw that. It's baseball season.
forum comments often say as much (or more) about the individual characteristics of each author as the subjects upon which they comment... In connection with the above posting, this could perhaps be considered to be "unfortunate"...
And as is typical, right on cue, here you are. Care to make a baseball comment?
"Care to make a baseball comment?"...
Since my only personal memory of “baseball” was when, as a tiny, I briefly played the related game of “rounders” in Junior School (it was a mixed-sex school, and therefore required a game in which the girls would not necessarily be significantly disadvantaged), I hardly feel that any further comment about the game would be appropriate...The Junior School “Rounders” experience I do not recall being considered as pleasant by either sex, but thankfully the School evidently came to a similar conclusion, as they quickly made revised arrangements for “Games” periods... Thus to a significant collective relief, the lads graduated to cricket and athletics in the summer (with football in the winter), and the girls to athletics in the summer and hockey whenever athletics were not being performed...
Not that my earlier observations related to comments made about the game, of course(!)...

Well I'm excited about the Yanks adding Rocket. They are in desperate need of an innings-eating workhorse and he was clearly the best available guy. Lots of money but it'll pay off if he can help them get to October. It's been agonizing watching those games against the friggin' Red Sox.
Postings that are so obviously generated to be immediately understood by all inmates, irrespective of nationality or culture!... :o)
I was expecting the great Roger Clemens of tiddywinks fame, who at one time declared that he would *never*, under any circumstances, be a tiddywinker for New York, and would forever pledge allegiance to his native Outer Mongolia. You must *never* do that again, as us Clemens fans from outside the US *only* identify with the tiddlywink Grand Master, and most certainly *not* this... this... "bezbawl" character you seem to have invoked, who must assuredly be an impostor.
Actually, I remember him as a Red Soxer, and I'm rather amazed he's still in the game. Is he still the bad boy he used to be?
Cheers
(P.S. Hope no-one too offense at my scathing comments above. I generally take the tack that if I don't recognize the subject matter of a post I ignore it)
He's 45 FWIW

did I ever complain about postings regarding cricket matches or soccer?? Teams, names etc., that mean about as much to me as Roger Clemens does to you?

I understand why many of you do have what I call 'The World Series syndrome'.And I call it that because the WS isn't a World series, 'kay!?
And just in case you haven't noticed, globally, many more people follow cricket and FOOTball than follow Gridiron or Baseball.
Yes, I had to look Clemens up!
