You don't drive that much, either, do you? I'd just fix the old one and put it off. That is as sage as I can be today.

Nope. But my wife will be receiving a lot of money from her mom's estate very soon -- I mean a LOT -- and she kinda wants a new car. Yesterday, at the Infiniti dealer's, she was sighing over the M45, which goes for $57,000. I convinced her that this was out of our range, but the G35 costs about 40% less and is awful nice.Still, maybe it makes more sense to just cough up the $700 and hope nothing else goes wrong with our old Avalon for another year.

Hell, go for the G45.And keep the old and fix it. Then she can drive the G45 when she wants to impress and the old clunker to the grocery where all the idiots can give it new door dings in the parking lot.

is it looks better in the bank. If your wife is getting that much money you'd be running the risk of buying one now, then taking a bath on it when you buy the new and improved one next year. ;~)
