Yeah, me too. Our goal (well, mine at least) was to purchase the largest washer we could find w/o any frills. However, the larger washers are only available with all kinds of bells, whistles, and a complete laundry list of extra features. It's not like the late 60's where you could order a stripped-down Chevy Nova and stuff a 396 into it- you have to buy the Caprice in order to get the big block.Anyway, I wanted to get the next-to-largest size, the one with the mechanical buttons and less features, but Gayle wanted the larger (largest) unit so that she wouldn't have to go to a commercial laundromat to wash the large comforters and blankets. Guess who won.....
So now I have to figure out a way to pay for these things, and I'm wondering how many newspaper delivery routes I should sign-up for.
Ergo grex, ergo sum.

What - did I say something wrong??
But I'm a little warped so what do I know....Regarding the water savings, I don't know that they will ever pay for themselves in straight volume-of-water-used terms, but I have noticed this already- normally our water softener runs after 4 or 5 loads of laundry and a shower or two. Today? Six loads of laundry, two showers, one load of dishes, and no water softener cycle (less softener salt used). Couple that with the electrical usage savings we (allegedly) will receive and we may save enough $$$ over 20 years to offset the purchase price.
I would run some numbers but I've already been accused of liking Excel just a little too much (right, DE?)

And he was right.....
I had your name there first, but then I remembered that you were coat-tailing off someone else and I replaced it.I received an email regarding the the next ASM meeting- it's set for a Sunday afternoon. I don't think I can make it but I'll forward it along to you in case you're interested.
How's the car?
Ergo grex, ergo sum.
I put on about 800 miles last week, about 150 of that on gravel roads. For a cheap car, it's performing admirably, and is really perfect for the application - it has enough room for everything I need, but no more than that. And it's fun to drive around those back-country roads. All in all, no complaints.
