Follow Ups:
recently built one using a Pioneer PL-512XD (dump find) that I donated to him for the purpose. I haven't seen it with me own eyes yet, but he was pretty pleased.I'd avoid the post-1980's plastic-y tt's as a platform... I think you want a little strength and stability... and a decent bearing.
I believe the pump was from Target and the RCM bits from VPI...
Yikes, without a back or front, that isn't the utmost in stability, is it?

If I had more money I'd soon be broke...but I'd have more LPs!
I think it is a work in progress. I was just so proud that the tt was finally put to better use than gathering dust in my basement that I wanted to share...
I should learn to read, eh? I used to know how!

...works well if you do not mind spinning the record yourself. check the archives for the many different approaches to the construction of the vacuum system. I say "plastic" because of the liquids involved. Good luck, I wish that I had the ambition to embark on such a project.
