On this Easter Sunday, the sun has been shining, the trees are either filled with bud or are in the early stages of spring leaf, the first of the tree blossom smiles to the sun, the first bluebells of the year have been seen today, and have today seen a number of butterflies...It really is a beautiful world... It would surely be both foolish and an insult to the beauty of Nature not to take the time to really enjoy it...
Follow Ups:
Of course, it might have something to do with the fact that I did it from behind the lawn mower as I trudged around the yard for the first time of the year. Spent the afternoon getting ready to admire Nature by changing oil in said mower, sharpening blade and putting in a new spark plug. Now I'm gonna admire the nature of a cold brew before I turn in. Happy Easter everyone.

Yeah I know its the wrong holiday, but I'm retrofitting. Back engineering. Its frikkin cold and snowing in New Mexico. When I rode my motorcycle home yesterday from the shop, it was 29 degrees. This is strangeness. For cryin out loud, its warmer in Anchorage.
you're living at a prety high altitude, aren't you?
Yeah, 7 grand or so, but who's counting? Weather map shows massive cold wave all over U.S. from Rockies to the Atlantic. Very strange. I blame Bush.
you can get snow up until the 4th of July! Been there, done that. You are welcome at my house for a BBQ in the interim. ;~)
I recently met her in Kansas City.I was tripping out again 2 weeks ago and swung through that neighborhood, looking to snag some good Q. Maybe it was me on a bad day, but the samplings I got didn't raise enthusiasm. Maybe too much goopy sauce or something. They like it wet over there.
I'm going back to Kraft sauce on burgers here at the halfway house -- if it gets back above freezing sometime.
Here the leaves on the trees are out, flowers are in full bloom, wysterias have more blossoms than normal for this time of year. The only unfortunate thing I have noticed in the mountains behind us is the fact that we don't have any of the seasonal streams and waterfalls from the melting snowpack. `Just wasn't enough snow this year.
where are all of the trees? All I see are joshua trees... and dirt.
The area was purchased by a group of Swiss and German immigrants in the late 1800's for $0.50 an acre. They thought the joshua trees were palm trees.
Sun in the morning? I can't remember the last time. The marine layer will probably burn off by 3 pm or so.

I am really glad I live here instead of by the beach. That June gloom used to get depressing.
beautiful day.

In a month or so. Still a little snow-covered and the flowers and tree buds are saying "Are you fricken nuts - it's COLD out there yet!"
But the sun IS shining. That's a start!
