In fact they're quite dangerous to fool with. A lot more unpredictable and meddlesome than brownies. Don't know where you get this info, but it is misleading. There have been near a dozen people killed in North America by blackies since 2000, and many more attacks than that.

pathologist at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and (ooops) referred to NYS only. Of course, if people fuck with them they're going to be dangerous. The operative word in your post is "fool". Don't "fool with 'em and you'll be OK.That said - they can peel a car open like a can opener if you leave food inside.

I understand that they find cheese an attraction that they will be more than normally "interested in"... I seem to recall seeing on TV the spectacle of an SUV that had one side of the vehicle completely destroyed in a bear's eager attempts to access a cheese sandwich(!) apparently dropped on the car floor by a young child whose parents had been walking in the area whilst the bear was demolishing their vehicle, enjoying the sights with their kids...I wonder whether such damage was covered on their insurance, and if so, how such damage was categorised...
Bill.
......I don’t think we have any killer Koalas in Oz but there are plenty of other things that will give you a hurry up. (Timbo & wasps comes to mind)I think bears are magnificent creatures. Unlike some here, I could never hunt one.
