I have a Bishon as well. It's amazing how fast their hair grows. Very high maintenance in that regard. Their hair is also like velcro. It catches every grass burr, etc. and it's a nightmare getting them out as these dogs have very sensitive skin. A very loyal "lap" dog that craves constant attention and pampering; and a dog full of love as well.
My wife made the mistake of waiting too long between groomings and the groomer had
to shave him down to 1/4 of fur to get rid of the tats in his fur. She didn't want him to
get cold since it was still chilly here in NC up until recently. My wife was pretty
diligent on combing him, but the fur around his neck got so thick it was hard to
keep it combed out. Hopefully she won't wait so long between cuts
from now on. Snoopy is 2 years old and he is finally starting to
calm down and "almost" be a lap dog. But he is still very lively
and loves to play. He was terrible with chewing on everything when
he was a pup including my stereo racks, albums, remotes...etc.
But now he has finally outgrown that. He is a very intelligent
little dog who guards the house like he is 10 feet tall. Not having
ever been around a Bichon before, I was surprised at how lively and
playful they are. They are not the typical lap dog that I have been
around...
a much needed trim. You can tell he lives a hard life..can't ya?
not to mention dapper. I think I'll post a doggie pic to.
so clean too.
- nubz - :-)
Keeping him clean can be tough given he thinks he is a Terrier
at times..
