... they just turn over and go to sheep?...
Follow Ups:
As evidenced by their exploits in the armed forces in various conflicts, those from the Antipodes deserve to be given respect by others...The fact that both nations seem to have gone out of their way to breed sheep that are steady-paced, are relatively docile AND are less physically ugly is obviously simply one of Life's coincidences!...
...... It most certainly is a coincidence!!Besides, where is the challenge with a damn sheep!

Since you ask...Some years ago, having completed our “undetected penetration” week-end exercise on The Brecon Beacons rather earlier than planned by our Captain, I and my three colleagues had simply each quietly settled for the night at the edge of woodland near to where we were to be collected the following day...
I awoke a little after 6:00am, and had the informality of our exercise having been completed confirmed by the definitely unsettling sight of Corporal Beresford, clad only in beret, camouflage top, socks and boots, chasing up the side of the lower reaches of the adjacent hill with obvious carnal intent and with a Welsh Mountain sheep as the obvious focus of his attentions...
Despite Cpl Beresford being very fit and in very good condition, the sheep had no great difficulty in avoiding the grisly prospect of Cpl Beresford’s carnal affections, so I think it might be claimed that sheep could indeed present a significant challenge!...
... and, in the interests of avoiding any possble suits for defamation, the name "Corporal Beresford" has been used instead of the real name - being one Corporal Rhys Boyce of 12 Aberfan Close, Cardiff. In addition, the name of the Welsh mountain sheep has, at the request of it's widower, also been witheld.Oh, the lengths to which we have to go to avoid lining the pockets of the legal profession....

......What exactly is an excess of beer anyway? Is there such a thing? It is 32c here this fine arvo so a beer is sounding very enticing at this moment though, alas, it will be a few more hours yet before I can indulge.
For one reason or another I have yet to watch very much of the World Cup at all.
Oh, by the way, I don’t kick!

but you'll find little evidence over at WC. Some of the threads have either vanished or been moved to Whiner's.

I think that suggestion is a little "strong"!...:o)As for any other forums, perhaps all (with the likely exception of "Central"!) are likely to have a periodic rash of contributors who may appear to post motivated by unreasoned instinct (I partly resisted the temptation to refer to this characteristic as "bigotry":o)) rather than any considered thought, but it is obviously in the interests of other inmates to slowly restore a situation where - even when radically different opinions are held - any differences can be calmly (and politely!) compared and assessed by all concerned...
Bill.
but I am starting to think it might be one of those "looks good on paper" kind of things. ;~)
NT.
That's the only reason I can come up with.
that basically polite behaviour and good-natured "ragging" need not be the exception, but the "norm"...I naturally accept that each group of inmates will ultimately decide the qualities of the correspondence that is typical of each forum that they choose to use, which of course will, for better or worse, automatically indicate a great deal of the inmate's own characters and perceptions... as it does on this forum...
Whilst I can see some point in posting at WC, I am completely lost at why anyone not an inherent part of the self-absorbed and self-interested navel-gazing culture I saw when I sampled it's wares would bother to waste their time on such essentially pointless correspondence...I would have thought that the odd Crown lager or three to the accompaniment of good music would hold a MUCH greater attraction...
I've just enjoyed Schumann's 4th Symphony, myself...
Sometimes I get to blow the whistle just before the collision. ;~)I'll have that lager anyway, thank you......soon.
Like this?
I heard rumours that this was a SA speciality breed, but don't spread this around...
