Sometimes this has been true, but essentially "the English way" is to simply be determined to do what seems necessary no matter what the cost, such as taking on Hitler in WWII before other nations decided to turn up!...Any other questions?...
Bill,
Follow Ups:
but do you know where I heard that phrase?
The night-time meds have not worked that well, so I've fired up the computer again... And it's 2:10am, dammit!...
I was listening to DSOTM yesterday again for the 10,000th time
and noticed that line in the song. Given Floyd's political and
social overtones in some of their music I was curious if that
phrase was something widely held by the British, or was merely
one man's opinion. I guess my new SACD player enabled me to
hear some of lyrics better...huh?? ;-)Up at 2AM...hope nothing too serious is bothering you. Going without
sleep to me is a dreadful thing. I hope you feel better soon.
though I have as yet not found either "hi-rez" formats to chime my personal musical gongs...Although tired today, at least I am now finding it easier to breathe, and have some hope of being able to breathe through my nostrils (standard practice when asleep) tonight...
Tea-break over...
I hope you have a good day...
