Lookey what followed me home...
(the one on the bottom) :-)
Follow Ups:
If it is the venerable Denon DVD-2900 universal player, I hope that it came with a ton of SACD and DVD-A disc. Like me, you will be very surprise how good this unit sounded as a SACD and DVD-A player.Although the SACD multi-channel discs sound very good however, IMHO the DVD-A sounds even better to my ear especially when listening to Diana Krall’s “Love Scene” DVD-A multi-channel disc. In the 2-channel format, this player performance is equally impressive too.
The DVD video with DCDI progressive scanning chip from Faroujia is very impressive as well. FWIW I think this unit is one of the best universal player sleepers out there in stock form. Of course, it will kick out a few notches if you have it modified. Something to think about anyway. Just letting you know mine is unmodified and I am very happy with it.
I have lusted after one of these for awhile now. I have had
the model 2200 for quite awhile and have used it for my SACDs
and DVD-A discs. But I always wanted to move it to my HT setup
since it is supposed to have a decent video section and get
a 2900 for my 2 channel audio rig. At $250, it looks like a
steal, but we will see how she looks/sounds when I get her....
Especially for a 'merikan liberal, civilian killing, gay-loving, mormon hating dude who never lifted a finger to help rebuild Japan after we destroyed them.(Sorry, couldn't help myself) :~)
Congrats on the new gear. Will your wife let you keep it if you promise to take care of it?
Sorry, what was this thread about again?
Have you been reading my therapist's notes on me again?? ;-)As far the "Boss" goes, I got the usual sigh of disgust when I
told her about my purchase. Even the great deal I got did
nothing for look of disappointment on her face...
........ I laughed so loud I have disturbed the whole clan here.I’m still laughing. :o)
Smile
I'm glad I could contribute to a moment of lightness.
