When I could barely stand up and there were three year olds buzzing around my feet as if they could ski before they could walk. Which they probably did in the Alps where I was.I also realised it was a bit too much like work and I get no thrill wizzing down a mountain like a nutter. Much rather enjoy taking the lift to the top of the mountain, photographing the surrounding mountains and getting back on the lift to get back down.

It's just those damn trees and big boulders that they have in the way. And you have to stop. Aside from that, it is a piece of cake!

One does not ski in the Alps to endure all the pain without the generous application of local libations, like beer and glühwein. And those can only be had if you slide down to the slope side pubs. And yes Austrian kids are taught to ski and snowboard before they can lift a spoon or wipe their own rears.dee
;-D
True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.
I'll skip the activity and go straight to the pub, thanks. There I can tell all the tall tales I want about my near death experiences on the slopes. "So there I was, having just scaled Mount Everest with a full set of skis. Man, the rush you get when going down that north face at 150 mph..."
