Dear inmates and music loving audiophiles,I'm now feel that my original impression of that all Reference Recordings CD are out of polarity which I subsequently reversed was actually correct and in fact they are out of polarity. But you shouldn't take my word for it, as if you would now, so just go listen for yourselves. The relatively high amount of reverberation on many of their recordings compared to most other recordings doesn't make it all that easy for me and some others to discern their polarity.

Its funny you say that because being I listen only to modded tube gear and electrostatic speakers,I have noticed this problem to some degree for years..I was describe it more as out of phase on certain frequencies making the music dry and lifeless.
I was at the audio karma fest today and many manufacturers were there such as mcintosh and marantz and manley labs and magnepan and many others and everyone of them was using vinyl for demonstration and it was on these very expensive new turntables that you see comming out each month in the audio magazines. There wasnt a snap, crackle or pop anywhere to be found with the wonderful cartridges and setups.

Whether apparently suffering from some sort of attention-seeking disorder or not, repeated "one note" postings from certain inmates can be tedious in the extreme...It's not as if polarity of recordings has not already been exhaustively (and I do mean that!) covered on various forums by Clark Johnsen (another inmate whose posting motives I regard as suspect, for much the same reasons)...
Happily, there are lots of inmates whose posting pattern does not present similar reservations...
Bill.
