So, it seems that the perennial favorite debate over this 'Lil' item has sprung up once again...like so much Punxsutawny Phil...threatening to split our little community in twain.Sooo...I got to thinking of a fun experiment with minimal risk involved.
Since the chief defenders of the efficacy of this particular product cannot explain how it works...only that you have to try it and experience for youself the benefits...
AND
The chief detractors of the efficacy of this product say that they have no need to try it, it simply can't have any effect whatsover...therefore refusing to lay out any real hard earned cash to actually try it...
Well, it soon becomes a stalemate with little chance of resolution.
UNTIL...
What I propose would be taking up a collection from interested persons...the cost depending upon how much one of these goes for on Audiogon...then "sharing" it...giving each person on the list a chance to experience the item at a minimal cost...each person would assume the cost of shipping it to the next person on the list...limited to say the continental US unless the recipient in another country would chip in extra to cover international shipping, etc...But, c'mon it's a little clock...how expensive could it be to ship??
So, the buy in would be a share of the purchase price...depending on how many are interested...plus the cost of shipping it to the next person on the list. If enough folks are interested, the cost really should be minimal...
Then ultimate possession of the clock could be decided by lottery or such at the end...depending on how many are then still interested in owning this bit of audio history...
Anyone game?
Or would this spoil the fun of the debate?
Follow Ups:
... an owner (presumably a subjectivist) and an decrier (a presumed objectivist) who lives close enough to visit.
An evening of swapping in and out and we should have an outcome to the irresistible and the unmovable.
- It puts another $200 into the pockets of the shameless con-men marketing this hoax,- it asks logical people to consider the possibility that the moon may well be made out of cheese,
- the suggestible will continue to be fooled.

How do you suggest we get around the extreme prejudice evident in this posting of yours Rupe?
...fools continue not to listen. Besides, of course, delivering themselves of opinions based on nil experience. It's a wonderful thing, the entertainment industry.

........……….However, if I had any interest whatsoever in the CLC I would simply buy one. I suspect a large number of people here take the same view.I will concede I have changed my outlook about those who wish to buy products like this. In short, if they are happy with their purchase that is all that matters. If I miss out on some great revelation in audio reproduction then I only have myself to blame.
FWIW I’m very happy with my audio system.
Smile
Is your system tweaked out at all, Soxie?
`
...That would have left out, well... every major discovery. The old creeps never like the upstarts.
you can't have it both ways...either it can be explained or it has to be experienced...which is it?
It's good to see someone that doesn't believe science has ALL the answers.
;-)
...those are referred to the Philosopher.
something without saying anything...
Ask not nicely ("Enlighten me") and we'll demur.

You do like to erect straw men, however.
Not CJ...Say it ain't so!
Come on...I'm even holding back on plastering you on that erection comment...and it so begs for a sh*tty childish joke...

Dumb ass, multiplied by various scams, equals poor dumb ass and rich con man.

Is this your best effort at intellectual honesty? If not, I suggest you pop a winkie in there; or something.

Whether or not that "discovery" is ultimately a DISCOVERY depends ultimately that it be acknowledged by the body of science at large. This means it gets prodded, poked and otherwise tested and if it can't be falsified then it is possible to be added to the body of scientific knowledge or even revolutionize scientific knowledge. So far with the clock there is not even a reproducible observation let alone a working hypothesis so it is well beyond the realm of science at this point.
Let me guess, S.R. Hadden, right?
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh... At best this hobby has a smattering of engineering. The science that has led to today's audio was pretty much complete by the first half of the 20th century, arguably earlier.
I wonder how many responses your post will generate.
...but perhaps it's more fun to argue over than I had suspected...it's just so perfect...something which, implausibly, makes a subjective difference that can in no way be measured or proven...or seemingly explained...look at how much joy CJ gets out of it...on a pure measure of entertainment per dollar this device gets my vote for deal of the century.
Recently I acquired a performance of the Beethoven Ninth that I've called revelatory. Several who have heard it, agree. How can this be measured? Overall length? Length of movements? Tempi on a metronome? Dynamic range?... Quickening pulse in the listeners?... Eye movement?...
Prove it!
Isn't it sad, to a "scientist", that most people just stick to their personal guns about musical (hence, audio) topics? Buncha damn subjectivists!
I have no problem with that...Just be careful...you might end up with a new pair of Nike's and a purple towel over your head...
Prove they aren't on that UFO!
It looks like a standard EMF clock to me. You might want to look into EMF filtering. A lot of product work using this same design. The products broadcast even harmonics to cancel out odd harmonics within a narrow frequency band.
"Incorporates Two Sympathetic Resonance Technology (SRT) life-enhancing oscillators"Makes sense...?
I could so totally use some life enhancement right now...oscillating or otherwise...
But, if it did somehow block EMF, that would go a ways to explaining some potential benefit derived from it in an audio application...
I agree....BTW, I use Quantum Symphony products throughout my house.
Take a look at all the avaiable products...look close and you'll find re-packaged audiophile products.

that may or may not work; why not use the cash to treat the wife or special someone for putting up with all this maddness!

...in my deep freeze. It's sounds awesome. And it's free.Don't forget to put your pics in freezer bags though. Not cheap ones. Not even GLAD ones.
You need my Audiofreeze* Signature Series Teflon (PTFE) freezer bags.
Cryogenically treated (in my reference deep freeze) for your pyscho-delusional listening pleasure!!
Cheers,
Presto*Audiofreeze will never be a registered trademark of the non-existant PrestoCorp!
But watch for copy-cats and cheap knock-offs from that infamous company EVERYONE loves to hate: Audio Psycoustica!
measure the output of the speakers with and without the clock to see if it makes *any* physical difference at all. If the clock can't pass that test then obviously it is purely affecting one's expectations. OTOH if it is actually affecting the measurable output of a stereo system in any way that has to raise an eyebrow in the most hard core skeptic of this device.
