If your listening is mostly pop-stuff and NOT 'acoustic music / simply miked', then some might say 40hz or so.Buttt, if there's a LOT of electric keyboard and synth in your diet, 20 may NOT be low enough!
can alos depend with HE on how big your room is and how much space you can devote to getting ELF.

Follow Ups:
I like acoustic instruments best - big bass drums, pipe organ etc and high spl peaks if suitableBest!
here's a cheap cd reissue of Fats Waller's organ 1926 & 1928
on that basis.and 20 would be a LOT better even IF there's not much there that's MUSIC, but may be acoustics, and thus part of the verissimilitude!
Also the extra capability helsp with getting tones further UP right.
For orchestral music, 30 or so is FINE, but not IMO for organ pedals.

Greets!Yeah, as music reproduction BW increased I had to keep lowering my sub's tuning from its initial mid '30s to accommodate it, with ~16 Hz being the point of diminishing returns until movie LFE and a few music CDs with cannon fire, etc., came along. Now we need ~flat in-room to near DC to experience all the LF BW that some recordings have, so either a multiple driver IB or numerous electronically EQ'd sealed cabs spread around the room are the only viable options that come to mind.
and accept lower spl but pretty good phase to 16? got a transform whose corner would like ~2CF box with low efficiency 15 like the Chinese Dayton. 2-15 might be ok (?)
Greets! If you mean Linkwitz transformed, I said EQ'd sealed, so it would be fine if enough drivers are used, whether all in one cab or as Earl G. prefers, multiple cabs scattered around the room.
