I've heard the Prometheus I speakers in a fairly large room with Lady Day amps and pretty much agree with your findings. I ruled them out in my LR due to sheer lack of space.Could you describe/clarify your listening environment/room/setup, and perhaps comment on how they might do in a "small-ish" room?

What size space did you rule them out for and if you had to guess, what size room do you think would be ideal? TIA.

I have them in a room that probably does not show them to their best effect. The speakers sit in a very long, rectangular room about 3-4 ft from each side wall, 4 ft from the back wall, and 10 ft apart. I sit about 12 ft from the speakers and there is at least 30 ft behind the listening seat. No rear reflections at least!Tony Landry has them in a much larger room, and at least from memory, they sound even more "open" and spacious there. An even better sense of being in a concert hall.
Well...I'm asking the question because I'm really not sure. My LR is 11x13, and I have Fostex FE166ES-R BLHs stuck in the corners along the 11 foot wall. I've heard of guys putting crazy large speakers in small rooms, but.....?But I'm pretty happy with my setup right now. Just wondering what might be...
