On the advice on a Tube Amp Mfgr on the Klipsch Forum, I purchased a pair of these Tekton Design Single driver 4.5 inch Fostex speakers. All I can say is that they are simply amazing for the $500 a pair pricetag. And this is in gorgeous Bubinga Wood Veneer. He has a basic Black pair for $300 a pair. They are only 17 inches tall and about 8 inches wide and 5 deep. The best thing about these speakers is that they are very efficient. I drove them with a Welborne DRD45 (1.8 watts/per chan) in my 28x25 room and it filled it with music. Coherent, Clear with a surprising amount of bass. One of the best values in audio I have come across in Audio in 30 years. These will put to shame monitors I have heard that retail for $5 Grand a pair.
You could buy a low power integrated tube amp and these speakers and have about 90% of a Full Blown SET/Horn System.
The seller(Eric) does not have a website yet and currently sells his speakers on E-bay. He is a Customer Service Oriented Guy - He will make you happy! I am not affiliated with the seller, just a happy customer. He has a lot of other products as well, which I know nothing about.
Here was my E-bay Purchase add.

The Fostex FE126/127 drivers are becoming very popular in the DIY community as well, with more box designs than the commercial market has to offer. They really are great little drivers, especially considering the cost.
I love my FE127 based Mini-Onkens BTW.Jeff
Hi,Do you have any plans for the mini-onkens? It would be great to see them.
Thanks,
You can view the original plans at the link below. My version is a little larger, I used the excel Onken calculator to play with the box size, vent length etc. I can email you pics if you wish.Jeff
Jeff,Thanks for the link - I appreciate it. If it's not too much trouble I'd like to see the pics of your speaker.
Here's my similar project.http://www.zillaspeak.com/fostex127eSSB.asp
The FE127E does have really flat frequency response for a Fostex. That driver looks like it would make a good extended range midrange too. At 91db/w sensitivity with 1.8watt amps, I think we might have different definitions of what room filling sound is but glad to see your happy with them, they sure are pretty!
Yes, I knew that they were specked out at 91db, but when I hooked them up to my 45 amps, it was basically just to see 'if they even worked'. I found myself listening to them for the next 3 hours.'Filling the room' with music meant at my normal listening levels which would be in the high 80's db.
I did not believe it myself.

These look like my Omega Super 3Rs. Great speakers. Cheers.
Don't they really look like them?I did tell you that a young teen came over the house and blew my drivers out by playing videos on the computer.
I also now understand what you were trying to say on the other post about them. In certain situations, a single driver can sound thin compared to a large speaker.
Cutthroat, welcome to the world of a really fine single driver speaker. The coherence as you say is pretty fantastic, the detail, the way the sound is layed out (soundstage), and the very linear presentation because that is a fine driver. You can really hear ev everything they put on the recording.
I used mine, the super 3r's, as computer desktop speakers, and if I sat away a bit from the desk, I was also very satisfied with them.
