I havn't heard any of these amps but if someone is willing to take a chance this one looks less risky than say a SE 845 amp. MAinly due to the lower voltages and current thee tube types need.450.00 total gives you a lot of room for vintage EL84 amps but then they would most likly have to be repaired and for a non-techy to own one could be risky too.
There simply isn't a no-brainer turn key tube amp for a few hundred dollars. I would recomend one of the Panasonic recievers for under 300.00. Tubes or not they sound great!! I can refurb a vintage EL84 amp but one would have to get very lucky to score the few that will beat the Panny. And they are very few.

Greets!Which 'Pannies' are you referring to?
TIA,
The digitals in the link unless one can find an EA-801.
I have the acclaimed Panasonic SA-XR45 and am listening to it all the time with the Altecs. Its interesting because in the last 12 months there was just one used one that showed up on EBay. Indirectly it may prove that they are still considered a great value to their owners.
Keep in mind this receiver is considered a very good value for the money but not your only alternative.
